Well Frau Winter decided to show up one last time. Getting a call late last night Matt (http://clarkleberryfinn.wordpress.com/) and I decided to give one of my favourite couloirs a go. It was foggy but comfortable on the way up. That is sort of a lie, my touring fitness is in the bin. I was dying all the way up totally smoked after only a couple of minutes. Finally getting up through the pitch we saw that the couloir was looking pretty decent. That is when stuff started to go wrong. After clicking back in my toe lock would not engage properly so it was really easy to pop out of. Seeing as I didn’t want to risk it being the end of the season and all we (mostly I) decided to play it safe and head down.

Matt even put a little extended edit together which features some mixed footage of his POV and the follow cam which give a nice mix of perspectives and some additional follow cam footage if you have a minute check it out!

The sun peaked through.
One spot of sun, dark down in the valley.
10 seconds of sun got all the faces to snowball. Snow was sticky so some pretty big chunks were forming.
This did however give me the opportunity to try the new Seady-Cam-Pole set op thingy we have on snow for the first time. I have been using it to shoot the longboarding stuff recently and I feel as if it translates very well to skiing. Still a couple of bumps to sort out though. Such as the lens cover. I really want to work with polarizing filters and ND filters to try and get rid of some of the jello cam in really bright settings but as of right now the superview is soo huge that the filter and or adapter are always in frame. Besides that things are slowly getting there.
